In a moment of the highest honor, Somdet Phra Maharatchamangkalajarn (Chuang Vorapunjyo), the abbot of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen (Bangkok) and Acting Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, presided over the inauguration of a newly built Ubosot in a small temple in Sa Kaeo province.
The day was filled with smiles and joy as a long-awaited dream finally came true so a beautiful Ubosot (ordination hall) rose gracefully in the heart of this rural community.
The Ubosot is built in an adapted Thai style, white with gold accents, a three-tiered roof adorned with chofa, bai
raka, and hang hong ornaments, a gold-patterned gable, and a raised base surrounded by concrete balustrades. Elegant and serene, it serves as a true center of faith.

Originally, the temple had to use a temporary pavilion for religious ceremonies such as ordinations or reciting the Patimokkha, as there was no Ubosot. Despite years of fundraising efforts by the villagers, their dream had not been realized.
Until Mr. Tony Tandijono, a businessman and philanthropist who had built his success through real estate development projects, channeled that success into supporting the complete construction of the Ubosot that creating a place for religious ceremonies, a center for the community’s spiritual life and a symbol of the enduring stability of Buddhism.
Although the construction cost was significant, its true value lies in being the sacred place where important Buddha images are enshrined, allowing Buddhists to worship, make merit, practice Dharma, and uphold Buddhism for generations to come.
